meet philippa

Hello,

Welcome to my private healing space.
My name is Philippa, and I am a recovered alcoholic living with epilepsy and liver cirrhosis. I have overcome addiction in the form of alcohol abuse and disordered eating, doctors once believed I should no longer be alive anymore. I am here to share with you that there is a way out of the darkness you are in, whatever it may be from, and I will walk beside you to help you find your way.
The programs and mentoring I offer are based on a lifetime of overcoming struggles that have built me to the woman I am today. I am no longer a shell of a person, living within the walls of what I allow my mind to believe.
I am a Specialized Educator and Healing Mentor. I support children and adults with vision loss and help them transcend their largest goals.
With this experience and passion, I now guide other women to become the best version of themselves. And the answer is found within. I walk with the broken and hold space for others. I aim to help others find their path and journey in life. Let's work together to find your way home.
It is when you can come to understand where you are that you can heal. I now offer this support to others as well on their healing journey.
My history of anxiety and trauma begins before the age of five, encompassing invisible abuse in various forms. These events were not isolated; they set the stage for a teenager filled with turmoil, where I navigated life with a severe eating disorder and panic disorder. I essentially existed as a shadow of myself, following societal expectations rather than embracing my true voice. I do not disclose my entire journey here as it is sacred and shared with those I work with. I believe in true connection with the individuals I support as well as providing them with unique and private parts of my story as our working relationship unfolds.
While I eventually overcame bulimia, the struggle did not end there. It morphed into alcoholism, a path that only deepened my disconnection from myself. With this came a diagnosis of epilepsy—a lifelong condition that requires ongoing monitoring by specialists. The gravity of my circumstances intensified when I experienced psychosis due to an incorrect and toxic prescription that I reacted to, leading to acute liver failure, a life expectancy of two months without stopping drinking, and a final diagnosis of liver cirrhosis at age 37.
I take ownership of my journey. I am acutely aware of the choices I made, including the decision to continue drinking after my epilepsy diagnosis, which was an underlying issue since birth. That choice put me on a precarious path that threatened my very existence.
Yet, here I am—a miracle defying the statistics. Today, I celebrate my resilience and the strides I’ve made toward healing. My journey has shaped me, but it does not define me. I continue to rebuild my life, rediscovering my voice and reclaiming my identity in the process. Overcoming bulimia, alcoholism, post-traumatic stress, trauma, anxiety, abuse, and self-sabotage has been a transformative journey that equips me with profound insights to assist others. Each obstacle became a stepping stone, providing me with the tools necessary to delve deep into the complexities of the human experience.
Through my struggles, I discovered the roots of thought patterns that often limit our potential. These painful experiences taught me that understanding the past is crucial in reshaping our mental landscape. By examining where and how these patterns emerged, we can begin to dismantle the beliefs that have held us captive.
I now guide individuals to confront their narratives, encouraging them to acknowledge their pain while fostering compassion for themselves. This process paves the way to shift their mindsets from scarcity and fear to one that embraces abundance, health, and ultimately, freedom.
The path to healing is layered and requires courage. However, by sharing vulnerability and cultivating an environment of support and understanding, we can unlock the potential for profound transformation. It is possible to rise above the burdens of our past, crafting a future filled with possibility and peace. Embracing this journey not only honours our experiences but also ignites a deeper sense of purpose as we learn to live from our true selves.
I am here to help you transcend your wildest expectations, while finding your true self and finding a life of abundance.
